Music

Music and music-making can be found at the heart of Eltham College, both physically and philosophically.

Housed in purpose-designed accommodation (2005) at the centre of the College off the Old Quad, the Music Department is a thriving, busy and exciting place. An extensive array of musical activities, lessons and performances take place every week, starting at 8 a.m. each school day. It is the Department's aim to ensure that every pupil appreciates and enjoys good Music, in a variety of styles, whether they are a performer, an academic student or a listener.

In addition to performing with the College's impressive array of ensembles, many Elthamians are in demand as performers with local and national orchestras and choirs, and a large number attend Music Conservatoire Saturday schools. Many pupils go on to study Music further after leaving the College, with significant numbers gaining Oxbridge or other University Choral Scholarships and Music Conservatoire places in recent years.
