Art: Curating Workshop

The Curating Workshop on Monday 6th February introduced the pupils to curating an exhibition. They were given a variety of images of the human form and were asked to make an exhibition plan to fit into an imaginary gallery space. Working in small groups, the pupils learnt how to make interesting connections between artworks and how their placement in a room can affect the ‘narrative’ a curator wishes to tell. Each group created an innovative theme to their exhibition, ranging from ‘The Self-Conscious Body’ to ‘The Silenced Man’. After presenting their exhibition proposal to the rest of the group, the pupils spent some time discussing what they would like to see happening in the soon to be opened Gerald Moore Gallery.
