Mexicolore Workshop

On Friday 20th January Year 3 took part in a Mexicolore Workshop to begin our History topic this term. It was all about the Aztecs and how they lived in Mexico. Throughout the workshop the boys played all sorts of games, had to answer questions, dress up in Aztec costumes and play musical instruments.
The way the hall was set up really added to the atmosphere. Background pictures and videos were really interesting, the music was lively and the little models and props made it feel special. The music had a jingly sound and many boys felt that they were really in Aztec times! The wind instruments played a nice, gentle sound but when you blow it hard it makes a loud flooding sound which is really loud – some thought it was louder than an elephant!
The boys felt as if they were Aztecs during the workshop, thanks to the really interactive and inclusive approach of the company who provided it. The workshop was really exciting and it has set our topic off to a flying start.
