Coopération Educative
On Wednesday 8th December Upper Sixth French students were invited to Trinity School, to hear a talk on The Multicultural Society, given by M. Laurent Batut, Conseiller Culturel Adjoint, Attaché de Coopération Educative of the French Embassy. Mr Batut is the link between the French and British Education Ministers. His talk, in French, gave students real insight into aspects of the multicultural society, a major topic on the A2 syllabus.
M. Batut explained events which have led to multiculturalism, particularly in francophone societies. His presentation also examined the contrasts between France's and Britain's perception of a multicultural society and their differing systems of integration. Afterwards pupils took the opportunity to put their language skills to the test by asking M. Batut some questions. Both pupils and staff very much enjoyed such a stimulating and thought-provoking talk. It complemented our French A2 syllabus extremely well and we thank the French department at Trinity School for organising the event.
