Corrymeela Trip 2009

Over the weekend of the 6^th - 8^th March 2009 a party of 12 from the school visited Corrymeela in Northern Ireland. We were given insight into the work of the community for peace and reconciliation. Through visits to Derry and Belfast we learned more of the sectarian background to the recent 'troubles'. The murals we saw in East Belfast, on the Shankill and Falls roads left a lasting impression commemorating murders, bombings and hunger strikes. Seeing those things certainly gave all of us the incentive to add our names to the Peace Wall in Belfast.
