Nielsen selected for Spanish award
Nielsen Fernandes of Year 11 has been selected to participate in the final selection stage of the prestigious Ruta Quetzal competition. Thirty of the best students in Great Britain aged 16 and 17, are now vying to represent the UK and participate in an expedition to Peru. The rigorous selection process was on Friday 3rd December in the Spanish Embassy in London. The Spanish King takes an interest in the Ruta Quetzal competition, which has the aim of forging bonds between young people aged 16 and 17 in all Spanish-speaking countries, as well as Brazil and Portugal, and includes representatives from many different European countries.
This is the third year in a row that we have successfully fielded a candidate - previously
selected pupils include Laurence Rowley Abel
and Tom Belger.
