Ralph selected for Ruta Quetzal final

Ralph Weir of our Lower Sixth has been selected to attend the final stages of the Ruta Quetzal competition at the Spanish Embassy on Friday 2 December.  Only 20 candidates from the whole of the UK get this far, and the winner will represent the UK.

Initiated by the Spanish King Juan Carlos, the Ruta Quetzal is a prestigious competetition organised by the Spanish govenment and backed by the Spanish bank BBVA.  It selects a candidate from over 55 countries to retrace Spain's legacy in the New World.  The winning prize is worth some £10,000 but there are also other prizes. This is the fourth consecutive year we have had a candidate selected for the final stages - previous candidates include Tom Belger, Lawrence Rowley-Abel & Nielsen Fernandes.  Ralph will be accompanied to the final by Mrs Rosado.
