Thomas sings solo in London concert

Thomas Hood in Year 8, one of the Eltham College Trebles, performed with the New London Orchestra and London Chorus on Thursday 15 March. Tom sang the role of the Boy Jesus in a performance of The Passion of Mary by Howard Blake (composer, amongst other works, of The Snowman). The performance, which was previewed earlier in the week on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, took place at St Alban’s the Martyr Church in Holborn.
The composer himself was present at the concert, which was conducted by the renowned Ronald Corp (pictured with Tom before the concert). The part of Mary was sung by world famous soprano Patricia Rozario, who performed the role in the original performance and on the Naxos recording.
There was widespread praise for Tom's performance.
