Parent / Teacher Association

The PTA plays a vital role in the life of Eltham College. Financial support is provided by a variety of fund-raising events such as wine and cheese evenings, dances, quiz evenings and second-hand uniform sales. In recent years the Association have financed many projects in the college.

For many parents a seven or eleven year association with Eltham College develops a bond which they are reluctant to abandon; many have built strong friendships and relationships with other families and staff. The departure of offspring from the College often creates huge gaps in their social, sporting and cultural calendars. By joining the Friends of Eltham College, parents and former staff can maintain that link with both the College and their friends. Details of College events, Newsletters, Calendars and Invitations are circulated to all Friends on a termly basis. One event is organized every year specifically with the Friends in mind. All parents are regularly informed of the Association's activities by means of a newsletter which provides a link between parents and school.

Parents are represented on the Governing Body by two Parent Governors. Parents may also make representations to the Headmaster through the Form Reps (see below): he holds a ‘surgery meeting’ with them once a term to discuss any matters of concern, and the minutes of these meetings are published below.
