Being a Sixth Former

gallery

Year 11 students moving into the Sixth Form are joined by between 30 to 40 new students to create a vibrant and stimulating mixed Sixth Form. Girls settle into the Eltham Sixth Form very quickly and the way in which the Lower Sixth mixes with the Upper Sixth creates a larger community. Sixth Formers have their own designated area - the Gallery - where they have access to computers, Higher Education materials and an informal work area, as well as facilities for refreshments and relaxation.

Silent study can be pursued in a supervised section of the well-equipped library. There are many opportunities to 'take the lead' either as Prefects, House Captains or through the school's own Community Service programme or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The social aspects of being a Sixth Former should not be overlooked with major events such as plays, talent shows and the Graduation Service and Ball often being connected to charitable causes.
