Sixth Form - Societies

drinksThe many societies in the Sixth Form exist not only for students to pursue their interests, but also to extend their education in a way not achieved by the curriculum. The flagship College Society takes place during the Autumn and Spring terms and invites eminent speakers with a broad spectrum of expertise including politicians, explorers, musicians, sportsmen and even a hypnotist. The Society is largely organised by its own committee of Sixth Formers and provides a forum with a relaxed atmosphere where students and teachers can interact.  The Debating Society enters public competitions and there are regular visits to the theatre and parliament by the English Society and the Politics Society respectively. The Senior Mathematics Society provides a forum for discussion of topics that go far beyond the A level syllabus.   There are many other societies; too numerous to mention.
