Sixth Form - The Academic Subjects

Every subject looks to stretch their students above and beyond the confines of the AS and A level syllabus in preparation for life beyond Eltham College.  Staff employ a wide variety of teaching styles to achieve this and are supported by excellent resources and facilities, whilst students are encouraged to develop the skills of independent learning and self-discipline that are essential in future education and employment.  Small class sizes provide a comfortable environment in which students can develop confidence in their own ideas whilst working closely with others, at the same time allowing staff to focus on the specific needs of each individual. Students are often taught by two different teachers within each department and lessons are extremely varied, creating a dynamic learning process. Lessons also create yet another chance to bond with peers as classroom discussion, teamwork and working in pairs is an integral part of Eltham College.
