Sixth Form - The Arts

equusWith purpose-built facilities for both Music and Drama, it is not surprising to find a vast array of concerts and shows occurring on a regular basis. At the last count there were a total of 27 orchestras, ensembles and choirs operating in the school, a number of which have recorded their own CDs. Music tours have taken place to Rome, Estonia, New York and all over the UK. The Eltham College Community Orchestra combines students with professional musicians to create spectacular concerts. The senior drama production takes place in the Autumn Term
HenryVand is designed so that all who wish to take part can do so, be it performing on stage or as part of the stage crew. This main event is supported by many other smaller productions during the year including Sixth Form driven performances that take place in the Sixth Form Gallery.  Not to be outdone, the Art Department has exhibitions of pupils' work, runs an annual trip to Dorset, and an October trip abroad every year to places such as Florence, New York, Moscow, St Petersburg, Copenhagen and Paris.  All Sixth Form pupils are involved in extra workshops every Monday evening.  There are artist- led workshops, life drawing sessions and artist talks, going far beyond the examination expectations.  From this year the pupils will also have sessions in Gerald Moore Gallery as well as having the chance to run events and organise their own exhibitions.
