Community

Community is an important aspect of the ethos at Eltham.

The College community is far larger than just pupils and parents. Pupils are encouraged to help in the larger community by taking part in community service in Lower Sixth, working in local schools, nursing homes and on various other community support projects.

The school is a Kent County Cricket Centre of Excellence and opens many of its facilities to other schools in the area; it is a training centre for new teachers in the south east. Through its partnerships with State Schools it organises Drama events, peer-mentoring and a Science Club for local Primary Schools, and its orchestra, ECCO (Eltham College Community Orchestra), plays each year to fund charitable giving.

Each year the school is also involved in several charity events, from the Staff Pantomime to a home grown version of X-Factor and a number of highly successful fashion shows!
