Animal Farm
Huge numbers of boys from Years Nine and Ten got very much involved on and behind the stage to put together another fantastically impressive Mr. Hillary production. The cast of fifty plus and the highly organised, efficient and unassuming boys which made up the stage crew, stage managers and lighting and sound experts blended seamlessly to pull off a challenging and inspired performance. A satirical view of the Russian Revolution, Mr. Hillary’s production comprised a number of outstanding performances, not least from Phillip Franklin as Orwell’s chief villain Napoleon and Lewis Owen as the manipulating and persuasive Squealer. The other pigs, together with, horses, the sheep, the hens and a host of other farm yard animals were enthusiastic and steadfast and gave stirring performances as they entertained a series of full houses.
