Dharmic AminDharmic Amin (pictured right) ranked 26th out of 120 in the Epee and 35th out of 130 in the Foil competition at this year’s Public Schools National Fencing Championships at Crystal Palace Sports Centre. Dharmic comfortably won 2 pools of 5 matches in both weapons, but was knocked out of both events by the eventual winners of the competition. Mr. Tim O’Connor, The Clerk of Works at Eltham College thought this was an especially pleasing result bearing in mind as it was the school’s first attempt at the competition.

Meanwhile Eltham’s inaugural Year 7 Fencing matches against Dulwich College on Friday 28th April were both victorious beating the Dulwich B team 27 – 16 and their A Team 27 – 25. The Team seen here below comprise: Jack Worlidge, Olly Pimm, Rooney Chughtai and Dom Schaff. Rooney and Dom both won their bouts 5-0 and 6-0 respectively, while Jack fenced with confidence and consistently scored points winning many bouts.  Olly, starting at 22-22 in the final, secured our victory at 27-25. This was an excellent team effort against a more experienced school.
