Geology
In the Easter holidays, a group of thirteen Geology pupils, Mr McCartney and Mr Hillary went to Cornwall on a Geology fieldtrip. Once there we visited some fascinating geological sites and structures such as Rough Tor, the recumbent fold at Crackington Haven and Hartland Quay where we sketched some more impressive folds. We visited a wide range of places in and around Cornwall, including Tintagel, the Geevor tin mine and the Lizard where we saw the famous ophiolites. After each hard days work in the field, we went back to our hotel in Bude where we were served a delicious three course meal. The weather was fantastic all week and the trip was a great success. We learnt a lot and got to see some incredible geological localities.
