News from Oxford and Cambridge

A record three places for PPE were gained this year. Christopher Marlow was offered a place by Christ Church, David Storrs-Fox by Queen’s and Charlotte Seymour by St Edmund Hall. Karl Hewson gained a place to read Engineering at Worcester College, and is joined by Sam Young, who not only gained a place to read Classics, but won a Choral Scholarship. Sarah Symons is currently studying for an M Litt at the same college having graduated with a First in English from Nottingham last year. Meanwhile at Mansfield College, Luke Jessop who is studying Geography, has been awarded a Scholarship for outstanding work in his first year.


Meanwhile at Cambridge, Onky Leung gained a Scholarship at Peterhouse for his work in Mathematics, and after gaining a First in Classics, Emily Husain has stayed on at St John’s for an M Phil. Tom Gault was offered a place at Girton College to read History and two places were gained for Natural Sciences: Charlotte Mellor also at Girton and Jonathan Cross at Jesus College, where this year’s Oxford and Cambridge Dinner was held.
