At the end of the spring term, 18 pupils and 3 staff set forth on our annual language study visit to a Spanish city. This time our choice was the delightful and architecturally stunning Barcelona! Students were placed in twos with families, then during the weekend and the subsequent days enjoyed a full and varied range of activities and most importantly of all, the language 5 hour daily language lessons in the Spanish school!

On Sunday, we had the opportunity to visit the Salvador Dali museum in Figueras; this was followed by a visit to Cadaques, a popular painting spot, for both Dali and Picasso. During the weekday mornings, pupils were taken on guided visits of places such as the ‘Nou Camp’, the Barca football stadium,’ The Sagrada familia’ (Gaudi’s unfinished cathedral), ‘Las Ramblas’ & ‘La Boqueria’, naturally some free time was built in for shopping and photo opportunities and the trip was rounded of in a typical tapas bar in’ Poble Nou’, where students had the opportunity to practice their Spanish and to order  pan Catalan, papas, patatas bravas, calamares & jamon Serrano! A big hit with everyone!
