On Tuesday 20 June Year 3 visited the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. Whilst at the museum, the boys had the opportunity to investigate different kinds of toys including push and pull toys, clockwork mechanisms and spring-loaded toys. They had great fun playing with jack-in-the-boxes and working out how to use Victorian whipping tops!
As well as an interesting workshop, the boys were able to explore the galleries and were perplexed at how neat student’s handwriting was one hundred years ago. They also got to ride on old-fashioned rocking horses, play with magnetic tables and investigate a light-show.
The museum was great fun; even the adults turned into big kids in the presence of toys from their own childhoods!
