Last week Eltham College had some great results from their matches against City of London Freemen’s School. The Under 15A and B sides recorded convincing wins against City of London Freemen’s School. The A team scored five tries in a 33 -7 victory, tries were scored by Juan Chanthrakumaran, James Lambton and Joe Abu. James Lambton converted three of the tries. Our B team dominated their game running in seven tries and keeping a clean sheet of defence in an impressive 45-0 victory.

The Under 14A team suffered a second defeat in a week after surrendering the advantage to the City of London Freemen’s School in the opening moments. The squad is full of promise and talent but they need to ensure that their effort and organisation matches this. They were 12-0 down but the boys fought back to 7-12 by Half-time. Further indecision saw CLFS take a 19-7 lead but the College woke up with 10 to play and dominated the game getting back to 14-19 but couldn’t find a winning score despite their pressure. Our Under 14B team dominated CLFS and with a solid defence and won their game 54-0.

The Under 16A team, unfortunately, lost 19-0 to CLFS. A solid scrum and lineout created chances for the College but handling errors meant that they were unable to get on the scoreboard. Well done to the U15’s, Juan Chanthrakumaran and Charles Watkins who stepped up and defended brilliantly.
