On Monday 9 October, three teams of Year 3 boys made the short trip to Colfe’s School for a set of Under 8 rugby matches. This was our second fixture of the term and our opponent’s first; it soon became apparent that Eltham College’s greater experience and understanding of tag rugby organisation and tactics was going to be a key factor. Our A team was involved in a close-fought encounter but eventually triumphed by two tries. In the B and C team’s matches, plenty of boys made their sporting debuts for Eltham College and played their part in the delivery of two emphatic victories. High-quality tries were scored, and Eltham College’s commitment to defence and energetic tagging drew many compliments. Well done to all the boys who took part!
