On Monday 4 December the Junior School staged a stunning concert at St. George’s Church in Beckenham, showcasing some of the top soloists from the Junior School. Musicians performing ranged from Grade 3 to Grade 7.
The acoustics provided the perfect setting for a range of works from Bach to Butterworth; from the Jazz of Fats Waller’s Ain’t Misbehaving and a Martin and Blane arrangement of Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas to a Hungarian Dance via a Violin Concerto by Reiding and everything in between!
Eltham College Boys Choir, made up of boys in both the Junior and Senior School, sang Will Todd’s An Earthly Blessing under the baton of Mr Goodwin. Thanks as always go to Mr Miller for accompanying the Choir as well as the soloists throughout the concert.
Not only did the evening demonstrate an exceptionally high standard of playing but also of growing confidence, maturity and a true sense of ‘performance’ from the boys.
