On Friday 19 January, Year 6 and 7 students had a very special kind of Biology lesson run by Philip Burnett from ZooLab, a live animal handling interactive experience, and the session proved very engaging and educational for the students.
The session involved the students being introduced to Giant African Land Snails, a Tarantula, a Gecko, a Cockroach and a Corn Snake. Philip gave the boys interesting facts about the animals and their habitats and encouraged everyone to participate by asking lots of questions.
There were mixed emotions around the room as the boys were offered the chance to touch the animals, particularly Rosie the Tarantula and Mike the cockroach.
At the end of the session, one boy from year 6 and 7 had the opportunity to hold Slinky the Corn Snake.
