On Wednesday 17 January, the 1st XI team completely outclassed Duke of York’s Royal Military School beating them 10-1 in what was a very one-sided game, credit to Eltham College who maintained a high standard of hockey throughout the entire game.

The Under 15A team came up against Eastbourne College in the first round of the National Cup. Eltham started the game well and went into the second half with a two goal lead. They managed to score a third goal in the second half but Eastbourne then scored 3 goals to draw the game and send it to penalty flicks. The boys then unfortunately lost 2-0 on penalties which meant an abrupt end to their cup run.

The Under 14 Hockey team had a convincing win over Kent College, beating them 8-1 with goals spread throughout the team. Credit to the Eltham boys who played the whole game at a high level, outclassing their opponents.

The following day, the Under 14 boys then had a fixture against Ashford School which they also managed to win convincingly by 5 goals to 0. After being 2-0 up at half time the Eltham boys continued to dominate, scoring 3 more goals in the second half.

The Under 13A boys had to travel to Forest School for their next cup game, the Eltham boys completely dominated the match and had plenty of chances but in the end only managed to hang on to a 2-1 win after a good defensive showing managed to keep the opposition attackers at bay.

The Under 11 groups had a tough series of games against some strong Dulwich College teams with the Under 11D team being the only team managing to get a win. The Under 11B and Under 11C teams drew both their games 0-0, in what were two very close games. Finally, the Under 11A side lost 2-0 against a strong Dulwich side, the A team boys gave 100% throughout the game but in the end, were unable to get the result they wanted.

The Under 9A and B boys had games against Royal Russell School, unfortunately neither of the teams managed to secure a win. The A team lost 7-0 in a very one-sided game and the B side losing by the small margin of 2 -1.
