The 1st XI team managed a solid 2-0 win over The Reigate Grammar School. The Eltham defence managed to keep Reigate at bay for the entire game, hanging on to a well-deserved clean sheet. This in combination with clinical finishing was the reason they triumphed over their opponent.

The 2nd XI team recorded an emphatic 4 – 1 win on Saturday, they dominated the match from start to finish. The Reigate Grammar School keeper made a large number of saves during the match to keep the score down with the Eltham keeper being redundant for much of the game. Jeremy Xiong and George White were outstanding in defence breaking up any attacks and calmly distributing the ball to their teammates. Sam Smith, Oliver Colegate and Ken Dixson were driving the team forward and posing problems for the overworked Reigate defence. Eltham opened the scoring with a goal from Harry Southgate and soon after James Ward made it 2 – 0. In the second half, Ken Dixson’s goal increased the lead before a neat chip over the diving goalie for Harry Southgate’s goal sealed the win. Reigate managed a consolation goal in the last few minutes of the game.

The Under 15A side recorded a convincing win over Reigate. The final score was 4-1 to Eltham with goals coming from William Leverton, James Bush, Harvey Jagger and James Roberts.

The Under 15B team had a sleepy start to their game against Reigate, with little movement around the pitch or any communication. During the second half, the boys came out re-energized and focused and created chance after chance with James Lambton and Christian Weeks scoring the goals, the final score finishing 2-1 in Eltham’s favour.

The Under 14A team were involved in a more physical technical encounter with Reigate Grammar School. The opposition played well to start with and got themselves a well-deserved 1-0 lead. Eltham then showed some good form to equalise. After numerous rough encounters, Reigate scored right at the half time mark. Eltham fought fire with fire in the second half but Reigate secured a 3-1 win.

The Under 14B team played a closely fought match with a terrific competitive performance from both sides. The initiative swung both ways – we had our period of ascendency but were unable to convert pressure into chances – the final score was 0 –  0.

The Under 13A team did fantastically well to win their game against Reigate Grammar School. It was a close match that saw the boys fight incredibly hard to get a 3-0 lead only for that to be brought back to 3-2 but they held on to win. The B team lost 5-2 in a game that improved throughout.

The Under 12A team got off to the perfect start against rivals Reigate Grammar School with Dom Wade scoring within the first 20 seconds. Piers Newton-Law doubled the lead with a neat close control finish showing great composure. Matthew Chick made the score 3-0 in the second half finishing off a superb team move that saw 5 passes rip through the heart of the opposition. Special mentions for Jamie Sears and Jacob McCarthy who were outstanding and even received special praise from the opposition coaches.

The Under 12B team were involved in a closely fought game against Reigate which ended 2-2, with both teams having their fair share of chances in a game that could have gone either way.
