On Monday 19 February, it was raining goals for our Under 8 Football team at the Alleyn’s School 5-a-side tournament. The team managed to progress to the semi-finals following an eventful group stage where they twice managed to come back from 4-0 down to draw 4-4.
The other three games saw narrow wins (4-3 twice, and 3-2) which, combined with opponents taking points off each other, saw Eltham College top the group and progress to the last four. Here, they came up against a very strong Rosendale Primary School side. Although Eltham took the lead twice, Rosendale were too strong in the end and triumphed 5-2. The Eltham players can be very proud of their efforts during the afternoon, and well done in particular to Hunter Caldwell who top-scored with 11 goals in our six games!
