On Thursday 22 February, Year 9 – 12 students watched a stunning performance of ‘I love you, Mum, I promise I won’t die’. It was written by playwright, Mark Wheeller and performed by the StopWatch Theatre Company.

It was commissioned by the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation to raise awareness about drug safety and to help young people to make safe choices. The play tells the story of the Croydon teenager, Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, who died in 2014 aged just 16. Daniel had taken a lethal amount of MDMA at a rave in Hillingdon.

After the performance, students participated in an interactive drama workshop, which focused on informed decision making and risk awareness.
