There are probably two responses to a great piece of music; firstly, a hearty round of applause and secondly; silence where no one wants to break the atmosphere and the audience are lost in the music. Both of these, at different points, were responses to performances heard in the Junior School Spring Term Concert.

As always we covered traditional styles, via film scores, musicals, to Pop and Jazz. Particular mention should go to some boys who had only been a part of their ensembles for a matter of weeks and fitted in seamlessly. Groovy Toons were certainly a hit with the audience not least of all for their trumpet and piano solos in their conductorless pieces marked by impressive improvisational skills.

A big thank you to members of Brass Ensemble, String Ensemble, Flutie Toots, Wind Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Hit Men, Guitar Ensemble, Year 3 and 4 Choir, Year 5 and 6 Choir and Grange Choir…and boys who performed and sang in more than one group too, getting in the right place at the right time, well done!
