The next game was against Cranbrook School, the loss against The Judd School seemed to have had the desired effect and galvanised the boys into a terrific performance winning 15 – 0, advancing into the semi-finals. The winning streak continued against pre-tournament favourites, The Skinners’ School, securing an epic 12-0 win to advance to the final stage.
In Sevenoaks School, they faced a strong opponent and it was no surprise that they would be in the final. As the first half approached the last few moments, Ben Mirchandani received the ball about 20 metres out and set off for the corner. He outpaced the defence and touched down to give us the lead. By the second half, Ben Mirchandani extended the lead to 10 – 0. Luke Kemp replaced the aforementioned who was injured scoring, bringing a steady head to and defensive security to the game. Sevenoaks were never going to give up, they forced their way over with a minute to go ensuring a nervy finish but the character and the countless training sessions paid off with Eltham College closing out the game-winning 10-5.
