On Thursday 14 June a short ceremony took place to lay the Foundation Stone of the Turberville Building. It was led by Rev. Peter Swaffield, who was our Chaplain until last year, and before that an English teacher and a student here; he laid the stone along with the Heads Prefects Sebastiano Zane and Millie Richardson.
Peter Swaffield laid his family Bible under the foundation stone and spoke briefly to emphasise how this symbolised the founding principles on which the school is built. The inscription on the stone ends with a quotation from Psalm 90: “May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands.” We will all be able to admire the stone when the building opens in early 2019.
