The Under 8 sporting season came to a close with an A and B cricket fixture against Blackheath Prep on the Eltham College fields. The A team went into their game looking for a victory to keep up a 100% winning streak this term, and they did not disappoint! Playing 10-over pairs cricket from a starting point of 200 runs, Eltham scored 300 in their innings before restricting Blackheath to 211, with a combination of accurate bowling and energetic fielding resulting in regular Blackheath wickets falling. In the other game, Blackheath made 267 against the Eltham College B team bowlers but was blown away by some ferocious Eltham batting as the hosts notched 297 runs. Well done to both teams on a perfect end to the sporting year, one in which the Under 8s have achieved a win percentage of over 80% across their rugby, football and cricket fixtures.
