Over the past year, Upper Sixth student Josh has attended four National Hockey camps as part of England Hockey’s sporting excellence programme and, as a result, he was selected to represent England White at the School Games.
The School Games is a four-day ‘mini-Olympics’ bringing together the best athletes from Great Britain.
As part of the England White Hockey Team, Josh went on to score a vital goal in the first game and in the final game. Josh set up the first and scored the second in a 2-1 victory to win the tournament.
Overall England White won three games and lost one which was enough to secure a gold medal.
Josh was delighted with these results and said: “After losing a game we thought our chances of winning were gone but we carried on fighting and the result is gold. It’s been an incredible tournament, the facilities and the atmosphere have been great.”
