Year 3 and Year 4 students brought in the new academic year with a fanfare! Every student had the opportunity to learn a stringed (Year 3) or brass (Year 4) instrument as part of the MUSIC ALIVE! programme.
A trial session followed by the gift of five free music lessons and the chance to borrow the instrument of their choice was a wonderful way to start the boys’ musical journey through Eltham College.
In a few short weeks, students will perform in an ensemble concert in which they will perform on instruments that many of them will only have been learning for a few weeks! The progress of students make in little more than a month is phenomenal and, for many of the students, sows the seeds for a lifelong love affair with a musical instrument and performing.
