On 11 October, also known as International Day of the Girl, six female students from the Sixth Form assembled at The Royal Festival Hall for a day of inspirational and celebratory events.
The day began with Speed Mentoring in the London Eye where women from a range of industries and backgrounds were paired with the students to offer advice, information and insight into a range of industries and experiences. A panel discussion about equality and female representation then followed.
Back in the Royal Festival Hall, we participated in lively and interactive workshops on singing and debating- all to promote girls finding their own voice.
It was an extremely busy and thought-provoking day, and Miss Edgar would like to thank all the students involved for presenting themselves extremely well. So much so that the students from Eltham College prompted a teacher from another school to say that she hopes her Year 9 students will grow into women who are as articulate and thoughtful as they are.
