Last month (October 2018), all of the girls studying Further Mathematics in the Sixth Form took part in the 2018 Mathematical Olympiad for Girls. Over 1400 girls nationwide participated, with the top 25% receiving a certificate of Distinction. Upper Sixth students, Aanandita and Victoria both achieved Distinction. Well done to Eleanor, Caitlin, Ike and Kiran who were awarded certificates of Participation.
The Mathematical Olympiad for Girls is an event run by the UK Mathematics Trust and was introduced in 2011, to help schools nurture the talents of enthusiastic young female mathematicians. We are delighted with the success of our students in this event, and the excellent standard of mathematics they were able to demonstrate.
