On Thursday 9 November, Shaun Dellenty gave an inspiring talk to our students in the Senior School about LGBT+ bullying.
Shaun recounted his own personal experience with bullying which led to him leaving school at a young age and the effects it had on his mental health. He also spoke about the positive ways we can change our own thinking and explore our prejudices to embrace diversity in the School community, and placed great emphasis upon kindness, compassion and our shared common humanity.
Shaun has been working to positively prevent identity based prejudice in schools and communities since 2009 and received a ‘Point of Light’ by Prime Minister David Cameron in 2016. We are delighted that he was able to share his story with our students and staff.
