A Year 4 student has been selected to compete in the English Ski Championships in Bormio. Sébastien’s skiing performances at the Under 12 Chatham qualifiers and the Under 12 national ski final in Norwich last year were noticed by ESSKIA – the English Ski Championship organisation. Bormio is located in the Province of Sondrio in the Lombardy region of the Alps in northern Italy. The event takes place in February where Sébastien will compete against much older skiers with the intention of impressing the selectors for ESSKIA’s Primary Squad next year. It is rare for a Year 5 student to be offered the chance of joining the Primary Squad, but Sébastien’s performances have been outstanding and have already caught the eye of the English coaching team.
