U18s vs. Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School
On Wednesday 20 November, Eltham College fielded an A, B and C team in a netball fixture against Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, in which 50 students participated.
The A team started out strong and continued to work hard throughout the game. Students showed excellent movement around the court, driving into space to receive the ball and executing some fantastic turnovers. The score certainly doesn’t reflect the play, as possession of the ball was evenly matched on both sides. Playing against a tall squad meant that the opposition were able to steal the ball from our shooters, preventing them from scoring many goals.
Final score: 8-24
The B team faced a tough game, as they were up against Chislehurst and Sidcup’s U16 Kent Squad. However, the B team kept themselves motivated throughout the match, showing excellent work ethic and support for one another.
Final score: 0-30
The C team also had a competitive game, in which they worked well together to maintain possession and achieve some superb turnovers of the ball in the circle. The team kept their spirits high throughout the game and the score, once again, does not reflect the team’s standard of play.
Final score: 8-22
Overall it was fantastic to see such strong commitment and continued hard work from all three Eltham College teams. Despite injury and illness, students still came to play to avoid letting their team down. We look forward to playing against Langley Park School for Boys on Wednesday 27 November, where once again we will be playing an A, B and C team.
