On Wednesday 5 February, the cross country team travelled to the LSAA Cross Country Championships at Wormwood Scrubs, with three teams set to race. Conditions were far from ideal as the boys had to battle thick mud throughout their runs. Eltham College’s Junior A team were first up; Theo led the way with a 12th place finish, followed by Henry who gave a fantastic showing of himself with Jake, Harry and Alex all finishing within a few places of each other. The depleted intermediate team also gave a respectable showing; Reuben, Ali and Tobi came in midway down the leaderboard respectively. Eltham’s final race was the Junior B race, in which Eltham only had Year 7 students representing, predominantly against students in Year 8 and 9, so Eltham knew it would be a tough race. However, Olly achieved the silver medal and Sam finished in 8th place. Ed, Daanish and Arthur should all be proud of their efforts too, following in not far behind. It was a successful day racing in the last team event of the winter.
