Eltham College is a proud member of The London Fee Assistance Consortium (LFAC) and supports the group’s ongoing ambition to raise awareness of the financial support available to students hoping to attend one of the top schools in London.

The top-performing students in our entrance examination will be assessed for an academic scholarship and there are also Art, Sport, Drama and Music Scholarship available at 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry, for candidates who fulfil the normal academic requirements for entry into the College.

We offer a range of means-tested bursaries at 11+ and 16+, to help families with the fees for attending our school but there are also specific bursary funds for students who may be eligible, dependent upon meeting specific criteria. These include the French Huguenot Church of London Charitable Trust which supports families with (French) Protestant connections. In the past beneficiaries of this Trust have included the sons of Anglican clergy or Protestant church workers. In addition, the Milton Mount Foundation supports children associated with the United Reformed Church and Congregational Churches.

LFAC has existed for over a decade and our school is currently featured on the consortium website as a member currently offering subsidised opportunities. This portal provides key information on our admission policies and arrangements for fee assistance, as well as links to our school website for more information.

Challenging misconceptions around the cost of independent education is more important than ever in a post COVID-19 and lockdown world. We understand that many more families find themselves in financially uncertain circumstances and may wrongly rule out considering an independent education as a possibility.

Even before the coronavirus pandemic, being able to afford school fees, fearing an unwelcome environment or predicting expensive extras (such as school trips or musical instrument fees) were some of the common misconceptions that prevented children receiving the education they deserved.
