Junior School students have been looking at the science of decay during remote learning.  At the start of lockdown, Year 6 selected two pieces of food and placed these in identical sealed containers. One container was placed in a warm zone at home while the other was placed outside.

Six weeks later, and after making and presenting a series of drawings and photographs, they were able to investigate the results and look at the major factors causing food decay.  Foodstuff such as tangerines showed hardly any decay outside, whilst other food produced some spectacular signs of decay.
