Year 10 scholars pondered the nature of cinema as they examined the work of the German cinematographer Leni Riefenstahl, an artist within an extremist political system.

Focussing on her work during the 1936 Berlin Olympics and in the context of what has been termed ‘Fascist Aesthetics’, the students considered the technical aspects of filming underwater shots, along with the images of the human form and Riefenstahl’s relationship both with the Nazi Regime and subsequent historians.
