Since the Easter break, coordinated by the Sports Leaders and having been invited by challenge ambassador Phil Packer (O.E.), two groups of Lower Sixth students have participated in the BRIT 2021 challenge aimed at raising funds for young adult mental health charities.
Split into two teams, Venus and Serena, to add a competitive nature to the challenge, the enthusiastic Sixth Form participants took part every week in documenting their distance accomplishments, working towards the grand total of 2,021 miles. This involved running, rowing, cycling, swimming, wheelchair, skiing and many other inclusive activities.
With the final deadline approaching, Team Venus have accomplished 1,500 miles, just edging ahead of Team Serena at 1,225 miles. Combining their efforts, they have smashed the target, with 2,725 miles! The leaders of the challenge have been Thea Watling, Zain Syed and Fin Edwards through a variety of different sports.
Well done to everyone who has participated!
