Crypto-Currencies: Cash meets Computing
Mr Tony Collins delivered a fascinating presentation to the Year 11 Colloquium centred around crypto currencies; beginning with an examination of why we might need them. The mechanisms of establishing them were explored during the session, an intriguing mix of block chains, nodes, networks and a world regulated without a single directing mind where self interest computer power and hashed codes hold the key. More secure for sure but still perhaps vulnerable to a solution of P vs NP?
The lesson forms part of the Scholars Programme which includes workshops and lectures overseen by our Head of Academic Scholarship, Mr Cavendish.
