Eltham College is thrilled to announce that our school has emerged as the winner in the category of Best Use of Technology for our ground-breaking ‘Every Name Matters’ initiative at the 2023 TES Schools Awards, held on Friday 23rd June.

The TES Schools Awards are a prestigious national competition that celebrates excellence and innovation in education across the UK. We were honoured to be shortlisted for three awards, showcasing the exceptional dedication and hard work of staff. The ‘Every Name Matters’ initiative, in particular, received significant recognition for its impact and effectiveness.

The ‘Every Name Matters’ initiative aims to ensure the accurate pronunciation of students’ names by fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity within our school community. Winning the Best Use of Technology award at the 2023 TES Schools Awards is a tremendous achievement for Eltham College. By encouraging both students and staff to pronounce names correctly, we empower individuals and create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. This innovative use of technology, coupled with our commitment to inclusivity, has made a profound difference in our school.

Guy Sanderson, Headmaster of Eltham College said: “We are thrilled and honoured to win this award. It is fitting recognition of the excellent work by Mr Hammond to advance diversity and inclusion in our strong Eltham community, together with the support of our wider pastoral, admissions and communications teams.”

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the other finalists and winners in their respective categories.

Eltham College are grateful for the support and encouragement we have received and look forward to continuing our journey of excellence in education.
