On Sunday, Eltham College proudly participated in the Girls Team Chess Challenge hosted at St Catherine’s, Bramley. The event is a celebration of girls’ chess, with nearly 100 teams competing across two sections.
Our Senior team, comprising Roxolana, Clemmie, and Avani, showcased exceptional strategic skills, securing victories in three out of five matches. Meanwhile, our Junior team, featuring Yueci, Amelia, and Aayat, demonstrated remarkable skills, winning four out of five matches and achieving an outstanding 3rd place overall. This triumphant performance not only highlights their strategic brilliance but also secures their qualification for the National Finals scheduled for April.
The success of both our Senior and Junior teams underscores Eltham College’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and intellectual growth. We congratulate our students for their outstanding achievements and wish our Junior team the best as they advance to the National Finals.
