Over the weekend, several Eltham College students participated in the Kent Ski Championship held at Chatham Ski Centre. In what surely was an intense day of competition, both our primary and secondary teams demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the day.

The morning session started with the competition among primary school teams, where our Year 6 students Henry, Oliver, and Mingxuan emerged as the Overall Kent Primary School Boys Team Champions for 2024. This is the first time Eltham have won this event. As the afternoon unfolded and the secondary school competition started, we saw Lily (Y9), Santi (Y7), Albert (Y7), and Gustave (Y7) securing Runners Up in the Secondary Junior Mixed Team category, while Mert (Y9), George (Y8), Harry (Y8), and Oscar (Y8) won the title of Secondary Junior Boys Team Champions and the Overall Secondary Boys Team Champions. The latter being the fourth time in a row Eltham have retained this trophy. Their efforts and outstanding performance demonstrated the depth of talent within our ski team.

A special shoutout goes to Oscar (Y8), who, after achieving a remarkable time of 17.85 seconds, was crowned Champion Secondary Junior Male.

It has been fantastic to see our Eltham College students do so well and thrive in a competitive environment. Their success at the Kent Ski Championship reflects their commitment and passion towards the sport, and we could not be prouder.
