Two Students Secure Prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarships

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Samuel and Victor, both Year 12 students, have successfully earned Arkwright Engineering Scholarships. The prestigious scholarship, awarded by The Smallpiece Trust, is one of the most respected of its kind in the UK, aimed at identifying, inspiring, and nurturing the next generation of engineering leaders through a rigorous selection process.

The Design and Technology department has been submitting outstanding students to the Arkwright Scholarship programme for over fifteen years, with at least one student—sometimes more, like this year—regularly succeeding in their applications. It’s an amazing track record.

Samuel and Victor’s remarkable achievement underscores their commitment and passion for engineering. The scholarship will support them for the next two years until August 2026, providing them with significant STEM opportunities and access to seasoned mentors. As Mr. Wren, teacher of Design and Technology, explains, “the Arkwright Scholarship programme is a prestigious, national award that is designed to inspire students to pursue their dreams. In addition, the scholarship delivers access, for companies, to the highest-quality students”. This recognition can serve as a springboard, opening doors to high-level engineering roles and opportunities.

Congratulations to them on this outstanding accomplishment.
