Outstanding Results in the UK Maths Trust Senior Mathematical Challenge

We are delighted to announce that 77 Eltham College students participated in the UK Maths Trust Senior Mathematical Challenge, up from last year’s 53.

Of the 77 students, 25 achieved gold certificates and entrance to the follow-on Kangaroo rounds, 23 earned silver, and 19 received bronze.

Special mention goes to Anita (Y13) for her outstanding performance, securing 108 points, with Mathew (Y12) close behind with 105 points. Additionally, Roxolana (Y11) scored 101 points, and Vadim (Y12) achieved 100 points, each earning gold certificates.

The Senior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute challenge with 25 multiple-choice questions that encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make students think. The UK Maths Trust awards certificates to the top-scoring 66% of participants to recognise the highest performers in the Challenge. These certificates are categorised into Bronze (49+ points), Silver (66+ points), and Gold (83+ points) in the ratio 3:2:1.

These outstanding achievements exemplify the dedication and talent of our students and also reflects our commitment to excellence in maths. Well done.
